Game developer Midway has finally succumbed to the recession, and has filed for bankruptcy.
In order to pay off their massive debt, they've had to sell their assets; namely, "Mortal Kombat" - one of the most popular and controversial fighting games in history.
Warner Bros. is the first to make a bid at the infamous franchise, offering $33 million on the Mortal Kombat franchise and the rights to the recently released "Wheelman".
It will be interesting to see how this turns out - Warner Bros. may simply attempt to sell the rights to Mortal Kombat to another game company, such as Capcom, or EA.
