Then And Now: The Simpsons

"Then": The art in the original shows was less then appealing

Originating from animated shorts on The Tracy Ullman Show, The Simpsons is the longest running animated series on television.

The Simpsons is popular for it's cultural humor, as well as it's humorous depiction of "the dysfunctional family". Each character is very unique - the humor arises when all these personalities clash.

The show went through over a dozen seasons, all greatly pleasing viewers. But eventually, fans got annoyed at the lack of a movie. And although the movie was postponed many times, the movie finally came to light in 2007.

And despite the amazing length of time (nearly 20 years) the show has gone on, it's humor hasn't faded, and is still as fresh and funny as ever. The Simpsons is expected to continue, and will eventually go down as a classic in the history of television.
