Episode in Review: "Chuck Versus the Ring" (Chuck)

The season finale of one of my favorite shows came to us yesterday, and I hope you caught it. It was an amazing ending for the season.

While it seems like loose ends are being tied up, with Chuck receiving a generous sum of money from the government, Casey being assigned to a special forces unit, and Sarah being assigned to the Intersect project with Bryce Larkin, trouble starts brewing when Ted Roark arrives at Ellie's wedding, demanding the Intersect.


I won't spoil the whole thing, but I truly do recommend you see this episode. The mix of action, humor, and drama that Chuck is known for really comes through, and it really keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The final shock at the end was the best part, and left me waiting for the next season. 10/10 - A truly perfect ending for an amazing season.

Episode in Review: "Chuck Versus The Dream Job" (Chuck)

The saga of Orion and Chuck's advancement continues in the latest Chuck episode. The excitement the show is known for is constantly present, as well as it's twists and turns.

Chuck meets up with his father, and also lands a job at Roark Industries - his dream job. Unfortunately for him, his job is a bust as he is forced to sabotage the launch of the companies new software out of fear of a possible virus. And his father, Steve Bartowski, isn't what he appears to be either.


The best scene in the episode is Chuck's standing up to Casey, who wants to stop Chuck from breaking into Roark Industries. While Chuck only has a tranquilizer, he actually shoots Casey with it. This marks a milestone in Chuck's "transformation" into a real spy.

Near the end of this episode, viewers learn some important secrets that are sure to influence Chuck, and the series in general. Unfortunately, the episode has a weak sub-plot that, instead of adding to the main story line, simply disrupts it. That is why I'm giving this episode a 7.5/10.

Episode in Review: "Chuck Versus The Predator" (Chuck)

After a very hollow Monday without a new Chuck, our awkward spy/hero is back with a brand new episode. This episode, "Chuck Versus The Predator", is a thrilling, action-packed one that is coupled with a somewhat inappropriate side plot.

The main story line deals with Chuck and his quest to find "Orion", the man responsible for creating the Intersect. It turns out that he has contacted Orion, and plans to remove the Intersect from his head immediately. Unfortunately, the General has other plans...

While the main plot is quite exciting, and involves plenty of twists and turns, the side plot seems less then fitting. It's quite funny, and by no means bad, but sharply contrasts with the intense drama of the main plot. Because of this contrast, I'll give the episode a 7/10 - but that doesn't mean you shouldn't see this thrilling addition to the Chuck series.

Starting quite recently (2007 in fact), Chuck has become very popular since it's Pilot episode, Chuck Versus the Intersect. The show tells the story of Chuck's (played by Zachary Levi) life as an awkward nerd working at the Buy More (Chuck's version of Best Buy) after he was expelled from Stanford University. He had been framed of cheating by his former best friend, Bryce Larkin. However, his entire life changes when Chuck recieves an e-mail from Bryce, containing images, videos, and information that are all absorbed instantly into Chuck's mind.

This information is called the "Intersect", and it had been stolen from the government. Once the government realizes this, two agents, John Casey (Adam Baldwin) and Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski), are sent to protect him.

The show provides a great amount of drama and action, as well as some good comedy during the "down time" (around the beginning of the show, before the plot has been revealed). I give Chuck an 9/10.

The band Cake (technically written as CAKE) is an alternative rock band that never quite hit the "big time", but definitely became popular, and has gained a cult following, especially after their hit song, "Short Skirt/Long Jacket", became the theme song for the hit show Chuck.

They continue to make music today, and have a new album planned. They made news recently after converting their music studio to solar energy, and have claimed that their next album will be "recorded using 100% solar energy."

The band consists of John McCrea (lead vocals, acoustic guitar, organ, vibraslap), Vince DiFiore (trumpet, keyboard, percussion), Xan McCurdy (electric guitar), Gabe Nelson (bass guitar), and Andrew Griffin (joined in 2007 on percussion).
